I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and my doctor told me I needed to lose 20 pounds. I tried just cutting back on calories but I was always so hungry. I actually ended up eating more than I normally would because I let myself get too hungry. A friend of mine told me about the Atkin’s Diet and I did have some success with that. I actually lost about 8 pounds in the first six weeks. Then I just stayed the same weight for several weeks. I was frustrated that the weight loss was so much slower. I have to say I was more satisfied eating a high protein/low carb diet but I didn’t feel like I could cut back much more on my portions to lose weight a bit faster.
