Relax With The Count Of Ten

One of my favorite authors is Richard Carlson, PhD. who wrote “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff… and it’s all small stuff” and many other wonderful books. In his book he describes a great way to relax by counting to ten. What he recommends is when you’re feeling upset you take a deep breath and say the number one to your self. Then he tells you to relax your entire body while you are exhaling. You do it to the count of ten or twenty if your feeling really angry. I have tried it and it really does work. You are focusing so much on counting and breathing you forget about being angry. It’s just a quick easy way to calm down and doesn’t require any special equipment.
